East End. First edition, inscribed by the artist on the title page, "For Peter and Pauline, Love DB". This volume was produced for a 2012 exhibition, David Bailey's East End, held at Compressor House in the Royal Docks from 6 July to 5 August. It collects pictures from three periods: the 1960s, the 1980s, and the early 2000s.In his introduction, Bailey writes, "My mother was from Bow, my father it seems was from Hackney, my grandfather from Bethnal Green. Before him they all were from Whitechapel as far as records show." An expanded trade edition was produced by Steidl in 2014.
