N.p., n.d. ca. 1820s-30s? . Narrow broadside approx. 10 x 4¼ ; torn at the top with loss to 2 letters as shown; top also smudged; previous folds, all else good. Words to a popular hymn comprising seven 8-line stanzas beginning: Poor mourning souls in deep distress. Versions of this hymn appeared in numerous collections throughout the first half of the 19th century. The first line is not recorded by Sonneck & Upton, but a version appeared as early as Ingalls' Christian Harmony
