Ill-Starred Prohibition Cases. First edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "To Doctor Louis Jentgen, with best wishes Forrest R. Black". Jentgen (1897-1980) was a physician in Columbus, Ohio; Black resided at Tiffin, Ohio.Black was professor of law at the University of Kentucky. His book shows that the enforcement of prohibition law was undermining other American civil rights, by highlighting prohibition legal cases which had allowed extensive police seizure, search, and surveillance.
