Richard Janthur (1883-1950) co-founded the short-lived but influential German Expressionist group Die Pathetiker in 1912, which held its only exhibition at Herwarth Walden's Sturm gallery in Berlin.This copy was issued in full calf, while some others were issued in half calf. Originally written in the second century, The Golden Ass is the only complete Latin novel from antiquity and includes the myth of Cupid and Psyche.
