Finders Keepers. First edition, inscribed by the author on the title page, "for Paul and Ulla with love, Seamus, April 2002", and by Irish poet Peter Fallon underneath, "from Peter with more love, Boston, April 2002". The recipients were Paul and Ulla Sullivan, long-term friends of both men, with Paul Sullivan a patron of Heaney. The Sullivans hosted Heaney for dinner twice a week while he was lecturing at Harvard during the 1980s and '90s. Loosely inserted is an advertisement for a lecture series Heaney gave at Harvard in October 1998. The copy was acquired directly from Sullivan's estate and brings together 40 pieces selected from Heaney's literary criticism, prose works, and memoirs.
