Heaney's poem objects to his representation as a British poet in Andrew Motion and Blake Morrison's Penguin Book of Contemporary British Poetry (1982).This copy was acquired directly from the estate of Paul Sullivan, a Massachusetts stockbroker and a close friend of Heaney.
