HEANEY, Seamus.
Inquire · Offered by Peter Harrington
Station Island. First American edition, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "for Paul and Ulla with every good wish Seamus Heaney May Day 1988". The recipients were his close friends Paul and Ulla Sullivan. Paul Sullivan, a stockbroker in Massachusetts, was a patron and close friend of Heaney. When Heaney lectured at Harvard in the 1980s and '90s, the Sullivans hosted the poet for dinner twice a week. This copy was acquired directly from Sullivan's estate.
