RABBE, Felix.

Shelley: the Man and the Poet. First edition in English, extra-illustrated with portraits and landscape or architectural scenes from the poet's life. The volumes are very finely bound by Lucien Broca (1829-1910), a "superb trade finisher" who executed the best of Sarah Prideaux's bindings before setting up on his own at the turn of the century (Tidcombe, p. 109). This edition is translated from Rabbe's French biography, which was published alongside his first complete translation of Shelley's works in 1887.
