The Reminiscences. First edition thus, limited to 1,000 copies. Angelo (1756-1835) was the most famous fencing master in London and his gossipy, anecdotal memoir of metropolitan polite society - "entertaining, if often unreliable" (ODNB) - was first published in 1828. This lavish edition is handsomely illustrated with reproductions of cartoons, portraits, and scenes from the celebrated collection of Joseph Grego.
