First edition of Taut's work on the importance of women in making a home, appropriately inscribed by him on the front free endpaper to his mother: "Meiner lieben Mutter zu ihrem Geburtstage! Bruno, 16.7.24". Taut was heavily influenced by the Garden City movement and built several modernist housing estates in Berlin. This book expands Taut's theory that modern apartments should be designed as a space for female creativity.
