Secretarial letter signed, thanking the recipient for organizing his speech. Churchill writes to John Skinner, agent of the Sheffield and District Branch of the Liberal League, "I must congratulate you on the most excellent arrangements you made for both meetings in Sheffield. It was a great pleasure to me to address such an intelligent and enthusiastic audience".Early in his career, Churchill often dictated letters for his staff to handwrite for him to sign; this example is in the hand of Annette Anning. Churchill was the chief speaker at a Liberal League demonstration held at the Albert Hall, Sheffield, on 31 March. His speech appealed for Liberal unity and supported free trade (see The Guardian, 1 April 1905). He also addressed an overflow meeting at Montgomery Hall.
