Versuch einer Logic für Frauenzimmer. First edition of this logical primer for young ladies, compiled by a 14-year-old author, and with evidence of contemporary female ownership. Versuch einer Logic für Frauenzimmer, which translates as An Attempt at a Logic for Women, was among the first German-language books to teach logic to girls, and among the very few to be written by a woman. The Attempt was the second work published by Philippine von Knigge (1775-1841). It draws heavily on her father's educational programme, which encompassed Voltaire and technical studies in geometry, although many of the examples and propositions are her own.
