My View of the World. Translated from the German by Cecily Hastings. First edition in English of Schrödinger's analysis of his worldview, drawing heavily on the Indian Vedanta school. This copy is from the library of the philosophical broadcaster Bryan Magee (1930-2019), with his initials and the date of his first reading (All Souls, Oxford, October 1973), on the front free endpaper. Magee and Schrödinger shared an interest in Schopenhauer: in his book-length study of the German philosopher, Magee wrote that "it is no surprise to learn that the founder of quantum mechanics, Erwin Schrödinger, was consciously and enthusiastically a Schopenhauerian" (p. 146). My View of the World was originally published in 1961, the year of Schrödinger's death.
