Italian tenor (1859-1915), starred in 1889 in the world premiere of Puccini’s opera ‘’Edgar" at La Scala, Milan, singing the title role. S igned photograph, shown as himself. This is a 5.25 x 8.25 solid cabinet photo mounted onto an album page, total item size is 9.5 x 12.25 inches, his signature and inscription is on the front right side of the album page, composed at a tilted angle, dated in Lisbon in 1892. There is also an additional inscription and signature of an unidentified individual on verso. There are several smudges on the album page, not affecting the written portion, photo itself has a few smaller smudges on various edges not affecting his image, otherwise in excellent condition. Rare and attractive historical item!
