Italian soprano (1856-1914), her last name can also be spelled as Torresella. Famous in her time and with an international career, left rare recordings around 1900. Larger size cabinet photo, shown in role (probably as Gilda in Rigoletto), a photo by Giovanni Contarini, Venice. Toresella signed on verso, inscribing this photo to Italian mezzo-soprano Barbara Marchisio (1833-1919), dating in Venice in 1892. Size is 6.7 x 9.7 inches, gilded edges, front is in excellent condition, verso has some spotted rust stains, but is in overall very good condition.
