The work gathers Hodson's investigations into the fair folk from across the country and is presented with the theosophical theories behind their existence.Hodson (1886-1983) and his wife toured Lancashire in the 1920s on his motorcycle and sidecar making detailed notes on the various types of fairies and nature spirits they encountered. He was one of the most influential members of the Theosophical Society in the 20th century. Hodson served in leadership roles in lodges internationally and was the author of more than 50 books on spirituality, theosophy, and clairvoyance, largely, as with this work, published by the Theosophical Publishing House.
