I've graded this as "Like New", but it appears (and someone else might grade it as..) Brand New. Dust jacket with no wear, fully intact, boards pristine, pages virtually unturned. BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED BY MAURICE SENDAK, WHO FLAT SIGNED THE BOOK ON THE HALF TITLE PAGE. The autograph has not been authenticated, but is consistent with others found on this book online, also flat signatures on the half title page. Brief synopsis of the plot of the book: "In 1983, a heretofore unknown story by Wilhelm Grimm was discovered in an 1816 letter written by the author to a little girl. It tells the story of a little girl who was sent into the forest to protect her from a fierce war and who given shelter by an old man whom she repays by serving him for what she thinks is 3 days."
