Al-mawāni al-sa'udīa 'ala al-bahr al-'ahmar. Scarce first edition of this detailed work on the Saudi ports overlooking the Red Sea, with copious maps and diagrams. We have traced only a handful of institutional copies in OCLC. The opening chapter is devoted to the natural and human geography of the western coastal areas of Saudi Arabia, with sections on the inhabitants, the weather conditions, and the morphology of the terrain. The second chapter focuses on the classification and development of the main ports of the western coasts, from the primary one (Jeddah) to the secondary ones (Yanbu, Jizan), with a focus on their location and practical use. The third discusses the sites and development of natural harbours, their current situation, and plans for the future. Mohammad al-Ruwaythi was the author of several works on human and natural geography in the KSA.
