Nishijin men'neru hyohon ("Samples of Nishijin Cotton Flannel"). A collection of late Meiji period sample catalogues for Nishijin fabrics, produced in the Nishijin district of Kyoto since the mid-17th century. By the time of these catalogues, weavers were also incorporating the newest Western technologies, such as Jacquard and flying shuttle looms. There are no institutional copies on WorldCat.Fujimura Iwajiro, the owner of Fujimura Shokkojo (Fujimura Textiles), began trading sometime before 1890. By 1892 he was the head of the Nishijin textile union and board member of numerous other companies in Kyoto. In 1900 he travelled to Europe and America to research new weaving techniques. Both of these catalogues list the awards his company received, including first prize at the Fifth National Industrial Exhibition in 1903.
