The Book of Kells. First edition, the first full-colour facsimile of Ireland's greatest manuscript, number 1,071 of 1,480 copies. The commentary volume includes a foreword by Umberto Eco and forensic description of the manuscript's text, marginalia, pigments, illumination, script, and historical context. The original ninth-century Gospel book is held at Trinity College, Dublin.
