Lewis founded his Institute for Physical Education in the spring of 1861, with Cornelius Felton, President of Harvard, who also served as President of the Institute. The broadsheet quotes an endorsement by Felton of the exercise system developed by Lewis Felton died in February of 1862, helping to date this piece .
