L'Ombre. First edition thus, first printing, number XIV of 26 copies on Arches, with an original Moreau-inspired etching of angel-airman falling numbered 6/120 and signed by Pierre Pascal; from a total edition limited to 110 copies. This poetic tribute to an airman killed in the First World War, was written by Xavier de Magallon (1866-1956), marquis of Magallon d'Argens, French author, translator, and politician, and was first published on 10 August 1921. This is the first edition to be illustrated by Pierre Pascal, who was also the founder of the Editions du Trident. Both Magallon and Pascal were members of the far-right monarchist political party "Action Française".
