The receipt is illustrated with a small printed covered wagon pulled by two horses and printed: “Received in my Wagon, in good order and condition from Agent, the following packages, viz: … which I promise to deliver in like good order and condition to “Columbus Whitby” Condition of Contents unknown .” The billhead is dated “186_,” the final digit to be supplied in manuscript not done so here .
