The stone was discovered in 1868 near the Dead Sea. It is a black basalt stone bearing an inscription by the 9th century BC ruler Mesha of Moab. Some staining on title-page and verso of last leaf. Text in German with some Hebrew. Interior leaves in very good condition. fair.
