Signed first edition of *Dear Mili* by Wilhelm Grimm, illustrated by Maurice Sendak. Published in 1988, this hardcover edition features Maurice Sendak’s artwork throughout and is signed in ink by Maurice Sendak on the half title page. The copyright page states: “First edition, 1988.” This copy includes the original dust jacket, which has been protected with a Gaylord adjustable book jacket cover. The protective cover has helped preserve the jacket, though there are some marks visible beneath the plastic covering and a small scuff along one edge of the back side of the dust jacket, as shown in photos. The book was acquired from the estate of a longtime local collector. While reviewing the collection, I discovered the Maurice Sendak signature and realized this was a signed first edition that deserved to be preserved and enjoyed by another collector. There is also a small pencil notation in the upper corner of the half title page from a previous owner/collector, as shown in photos. This does not affect the signature or artwork. A wonderful addition for collectors of Maurice Sendak’s work, signed children’s books, or illustrated literature.
