Offered here is " Carleton Watkins: The Complete Mammoth Photographs " by Weston Naef and Christine Hult-Lewis, published by The J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles in 2011. This edition publishes all 1,273 known "mammoth-plate" (18-inch x 22-inch) glass-plate photographs by this 19th-century photographer. It showcases his iconic Yosemite views, Pacific Coast landscapes, railroads, mines, etc., featuring over 1000 duotone images. This edition includes many black and white photographs. This book measures 10-inches by 12.5-inches by 2-inches and has 572 pages. There is a brown book-ribbon attached. This hardcover book is in Very Good Plus condition. The tan cloth-covered boards have brown titles on the spine. The spine has a subtle 1.5-inch crease near the authors' names, as well as some horizontal creasing along the head and tail. The front boards' bottom corner is bumped, resulting in a 0.3-inch crease. The book block is clean, unmarked and bright, save for a small amount of soiling on the bottom corner. The front free endpaper has a donation plate. The pages within are clean, unmarked and uncreased. The binding is tight. This book comes included with its original unclipped dust jacket which is in Very Good Plus condition. The head and tail of the spine panel are bumped and creased, more so to the head. The dust jacket is covered in mylar wrap which is taped to a paper liner; the mylar has a variety of scratches and scuff marks. Please see accompanying photographs, which are of
