The "page 3 misprint" in the 1977 First American Edition of The Silmarillion refers to a famous typo in the list of "Books by J.R.R. Tolkien".On page 3 (or the adjacent introductory pages displaying his bibliography), the title of his 1949 short story Farmer Giles of Ham was accidentally printed as Father Giles of Ham.Why This Misprint Matters to CollectorsFirst Printing Indicator: This error only exists in the very first print run of the book.
