This copy has the ownership signature on the front free endpaper of Joseph Edwards, a scientist researching artificial insemination, dated 1937 in Cambridge. In 1938, Pincus spent a year as a visiting investigator at the university; their shared interests meant that they likely crossed paths.Pincus also established the Laurentian Hormone Conference, which he "shaped it into a forum for the fruitful exchange of ideas in the field of endocrinology" (ANB).
