Gilt-decorated red sheep, all edges gilt; leather slightly rubbed at the extremities, with minimal loss to the head of the spine; endpapers and edges lightly foxed; a few trifling spots internally; slight loss to the bottom margin of one leaf; overall, an excellent copy. One of 3000 copies of the leather-bound deluxe issue. These copies were bound from the sheets of the first trade issue, and are found in blue, green, or red leather. See John R. He notes that these copies were bound 'by Burn' (presumably James Burn & Company).
