[iv], 288 pages of text followed by [xxxix] pages containing a table/index. Contemporary vellum rebacked in half vellum with green morocco gilt-lettered spine labels. First edition in English of this work of philosophy by the Christian mystic and founder of Behmenism, first published 30 years earlier in German. Hegel described B hme as the first German philosopher. Cormac McCarthy s 1985 novel Blood Meridian includes three epigraphs, the second of which is sourced from Jacob Boehme. New endpapers.
