Publisher s original first state navy blue (Foundation), red (Foundation and Empire) and blue (Second Foundation) cloth with red, black and brown titles to the spine, in the David Kyle, Edd Cartier and Ric Binkley illustrated dustwrappers. A better than very good set. The bindings square and firm, with just a little bumping to the spine tips and rubbing to the extremities, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Second Foundation is a little spotted to the prelims and closed text-block edge. Complete with the uniformly bright, lightly rubbed and nicked, first state dustwrappers, each with a few closed tears. Foundation and Empire is price-clipped and with a small chip to the bottom edge of the lower panel. Foundation and Second Foundation , with just a touch of fading to the red lettering on the spine, are correctly priced $2.75 to the front flap. All three volumes are housed in a bespoke quarter morocco folding case with titles in gilt to the spine. An attractive set, in entirely original condition.
