First edition

New York: Analog . 1st Edition. Paperback. Good. First editions of twelve Analog issues containing the first appearance of Frank Herbert's "Dune" and "Children of Dune." Pictorial wrappers, with covers illustrated and colour and black and white illustrations to contents. The first six are in large format and the second six are in digest format. The full set includes December 1963, January and February 1964, which contains "Dune World" in three parts. Then January, February, March, April and May 1965, which contains "Prophet of Dune" in five parts. Also includes January, February, March and April 1976 where "Children of Dune" was first published after the sequel "Dune Messiah" was serialised in Galaxy Science Fiction rather than Analog. All issues are marked, creased and toned w/ wear to extremities and tears to edges. Pencil mark to front top corner of January 1964. The March 1965 issue seems perhaps the most distressed of the larger formats. The smaller digests are slightly more worn w/ some chips to covers and a large 4cm tear and some loss to spine end of April 1965 issue. February 1976 has some more wear to extremities than others. Content universally toned and age-stained. All display reading creases to spine and joints. Now housed in card backed plastic sleeves. A superb set and vanishingly rare in all twelve Analog volumes.
