First edition

Eveleigh Nash, London., 1912. First edition. Octavo. 583 pages. Publisher's 16-page catalogue at rear. Some copies were issued without the catalogue, but there appears to be no priority. Original red cloth decorated in blind, lettered in gilt. Described by H.P. Lovecraft as "one of the most potent pieces of macabre imagination ever written", this novel is set in the far distant future, in a world of total night and full of terrifying creatures. Some spotting to endpapers and prelims. Spine slightly faded. Very good indeed.
