This specific edition is a significant historical artifact in the architectural and carpentry world. While Riddell's work was originally published much earlier (revised in 1871), this extended 2nd edition published by John Joseph McVey in 1900, served to keep the manual in print for builders at the turn of the century. This hardback book measures 14" x 11" with 126 pages containing all 41 plates. The table of contents only lists 40 as the 41st plate, known as "Frontispiece", curving staircase, is used facing the title page. A specific design of this edition. CONDITION: Antique edition in very nice pre-owned condition! The hardback cover has some wear and discoloration from handling. The embossed gilded lettering is in fine to excellent condition. The pages are aging and yellowing with no rips or tears, but a few creased corners (SEE PHOTOS). The binding is in good condition. An overall nicely preserved book!
