Publisher's brown cloth lettered in green to backstrip. photographic dust-wrapper showing an aerial view of London, priced at 7/6. No inscriptions, edges gently toned, jacket with a little wear to crown. Very good indeed. Rare in jacket. A political satire about Britain's rush for Middle East resources, in which one of the characters is based on Nicolson's friend, the future James Bond novelist Ian Fleming, who subsequently wrote a controversial history of Kuwait. This copy is from the comprehensive Ian Fleming Bibliographical Archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencilled signature within). His encyclopaedic guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography. Gilbert, p.649.
