London, Warne, 1910.. FIRST EDITION FIRST ISSUE 1910 (dated on title page), IN CHIPPED FIRST ISSUE DUSTWRAPPER. Approximately 145 x 110 mm, 5½ x 4¼ inches, cream boards, lettered dark green, hexagonal colour plate onlaid, coloured pictorial endpapers, 85 pages. Coloured frontispiece and 26 colour plates. Book leaning very slightly, tiniest bump to top corners, spine very slightly darkened at head and tail due to chips to dustwrapper, head and tail also very lightly rubbed, minute dent to lower edge of boards, no inscriptions, very light diagonal binding crease to page 17 and page 20 (colour plates - see image), contents otherwise very clean and bright. A very good plus tight copy in the slightly tattered original printed glassine dustwrapper (dw: small chips to head and tail of spine (maximum 25 mm, 1") and to top and bottom of folds, all text intact, tiny tear through price of "1/- Net" at foot of spine, small pale brown mark on blank upper panel - see images). The first issue dustwrapper (July 1910) has 9 titles from the Peter Rabbit series on the lower panel ending with The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck (see image).
