Macmillan. London. 1890. [Second edition]. 4to.. pp. (viii), 56, (i) [TURN OVER], (iii) An Easter Greeting, (i) Christmas Greetings, (ii) Advertisements, (i) Specimen Page. Coloured frontispiece and 19 coloured text illustrations by TENNIEL. White cloth spine unlettered, coloured pictorial boards [the front board signed by Thomson, the rear board with a central vignette of the March Hare initialled by Thomson - in both cases the original owner has gone to the trouble of erasing the Thomson signatures very carefully but has left a portion of the letter 'E' on the front board and by the position of the erasures indicating what has happened], without the front free end-paper, the tissue guard to the frontispiece torn at attachment without loss, the first 8 pages have a few light pencil underlines and the odd marginal note, the covers are scuffed and worn at spine ends and corners, some margins have marks, clearly a used but decent copy. *This copy is printed on white, rather than toned, paper; the price of 'Four Shillings' above the imprint is changed to 'One Shilling' [though the Advertisement at the back of the book still announces 'Four Shillings'], the illustration on page 34 of Alice and the Cheshire Cat shows Alice with her back towards the reader and not in profile.
