This signed issue was released in advance of the trade issue to benefit the victims of the Armero tragedy, in which over 20,000 Colombians died after the Nevado del Ruiz volcano erupted on 13 November 1985. The novel was met with widespread critical acclaim, and was translated into English by Edith Grossman in 1988.
