Small embossed bookseller’s stamp to fly-leaf, small bookseller’s label to front paste-down, ownership inscription to half-title. First edition of this story set in Egypt, about the Dervish threat. A portion of it first appeared serially in the May through December, 1897, issues of The Strand magazine, and was enlarged here into a novel.
