Goodman mounted to front pastedown, with ink and pencil name of C.M. Clay Jr. on verso of front endpaper and preliminary blank respectively. Modest external wear, some softening and tiny tears to spine ends, faint splash mark to lower rear cover, with faint foxing and occasional finger-soil to margins; two small ink splotches to front pastedown and endpaper; hinges sound; Very Good. Substantial collection of humorous writing, anonymously edited by William Dean Howells. Includes contributions by Twain and Howells, as well as Ambrose Bierce, George W.
