First edition. 2 volumes, 9x6", 268 and 365, [1]pp. Titles in black and red, portrait frontis in each volume, a few facsimiles in the text, and publisher's ads at rear of volume 2. Taken from a larger autograph edition of Twain's writings, as stamped on spines, and finely bound in dark levant morocco with elaborate gilt tooling on covers and spines, with matching leather doublures and iridescent silk endpapers, t.e.g. Joints and raised bands on spines rubbed, internally clean and very good. BAL 3537.
