Mounted on thick card and signed in the image by Goodfellow with the title below in pencil in his hand.From the web: Peter Goodfellow, artist, designer, and illustrator, was born in Middlesborough, UK, in 1950 and studied at the Middlesbrough College of Art, before taking a degree at the Central School of Art in London.Peter GoodfellowÕs commercial art career really kicked-off in the early 1970s when he started producing illustrations for book jackets. Starting out as a freelance illustrator, Goodfellow soon signed with various agents and he quickly became in-demand, and before long he was one of the leading illustrators in Europe. GoodfellowÕs first book jacket was for Arthur C. ClarkeÕs ÔTales From The White HartÔ which was published in 1972 by Sidgwick & Jackson. GoodfellowÕs art was usually a large step ahead of many other artists and illustrators of the time who were working on science fiction book covers Ð his paintings were detailed, steeped in atmosphere, and technically stunning.Peter Goodfellow would have a prolific run between 1972 and late 1980s illustrating and creating artwork for some of the most famous science fiction books and authors.
