A rarely-seen portrait of Nabokov hunting butterflies, an outtake from the shots Halsman made to appear with Herbert Gold's profile of the author in the Saturday Evening Post (eventually published in January 1967). Nabokov apparently liked Halsman's portraits so much that he asked they be used on all subsequent dust jackets.
