London. 1971 (Revised 1966 Second Edition - Sixth Impression). 8vo, III parts (volumes) with each part comprised of two books and one book respectively, I (423pp), II(352pp), III (440pp). Each hardcover volume is in crimson cloth boards and top edge crimson with gilt titles on very firm and sound spines with no cracking of hint of hinging though each has very minor edge scuffing and shelf-wear plus each has its own classic designed non- clipped d/w in olive green with white and black titles and the ring and eye icon on each front cover, all three d/w's having trivial edge chipping and scuffing and browning of the d/w folded edges with spine darkening plus Vol. II has a minor water stain on the front d/w edge fold. The three books are now protected in clear archival covering as well, Internally all volumes are in excellent condition devoid of damage or ownership identifiers with excellent fold out maps at rear of each book in a perfect state as well. Overall the books are in very good to excellent condition though all pages are a little age yellowed of course. Devoid of foxing or extra notations. No need to describe the complex narrative of this very famous work, comprising I) The Fellowship of the Ring,then II) The Two Towers and finally III) The Return of the King.
