Fundamental Psychological Conceptions. First edition, number 130, for private circulation. This is the copy of Ethel Kirkham (1886-1973), who translated Jung's "On the Nature of Dreams" for the Spring 1948 issue of the Analytical Psychology Club of New York's journal. Her ownership signature, dated 1936, is on the front free endpaper. Around two hundred members of the medical profession attended the event, popularly known as the Tavistock Lectures. This publication is based on a stenographic record. It was edited by Mary Barker and Margaret Game, approved by Jung, and printed by mimeograph for distribution by the Analytical Psychology Club of London. Aside from passages published in a French translation in 1944, the lectures were not published publicly until the heavily revised 1968 edition, which toned down Jung's perceived rudeness towards the British psychiatric establishment.
