The first appearance of Herbert's pseudonym "Frank Forester." BAL 8068 ("Unsold sheets, folded, untrimmed, measuring 7 7/8 x 4 ¾ inches, remained unbound for years and copies were offered during the later years of the 19th century as 'large paper copies'"). Phillips, p. 163. Henderson, p. 60. Somewhat later plain binder's quarter cloth and boards. Very good untrimmed and largely unopened copy, at 8 3/8 x 5 inches, larger than the unbound copies mentioned in BAL.
