The illustrations were specially commissioned by the Reprint Society for this publication; Cape would later issue their own illustrated edition using these same images. First illustrated edition, first printing; 8vo; illustrated throughout in black and white by C.F. Tunnicliffe and Raymond Sheppard, slight toning to textblock; publisher's green cloth, spine lettered in silver, titles to spine on maroon ground, silver device to upper cover, burgundy topstain a little faded, illustrated endpapers, with the unclipped pictorial dustjacket, minor creasing to extremities, spine a touch darkened, patch of spotting to front panel; very good indeed.
