First edition, second printing, of this illustrated book, based on material kept at the UAE National Archives, concerning a famous reportage of the Egyptian publishing house Dar al-Hilal produced after their visit to the UAE in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It documents the early years of Abu Dhabi's development under Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.Subjects include the ancient history of the UAE and the arrival of Islam, the Bani Yas tribe, oil discoveries and exploitation, and the contributions of several rulers of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain up to Sheikh Zayed.
