Life was an American magazine published weekly from 1883 to 1972, as an intermittent "special" until 1978, and as a monthly from 1978 until 2000. This issue of Life (Vol. 65, No. 25, December 20, 1968) contains the unpublished and unfinished manuscript by Mark Twain titled Huck Finn & Tom Sawyer Among the Indians. The issue features a picture of Mark Twain at age 55, painted by Charles N. Flagg, on the front cover, 16 pages devoted to the text of the unfinished novel, and a one-page article titled The reasons Mark Twain did not finish his story. Articles on other subjects are also present. This issue of Life, which measures approximately 10.5 x 14 inches, has a total of 76 pages of text, illustrations, and advertisements. The table of Contents, on page 1, lists all of the articles contained in the issue. With the exception of the remains of the subscriber's mailing label on the front cover, the magazine is in very good condition. The illustrations accompanying this description show the front cover, the table of Contents, and a 2-page spread of the Twain text.
