Colour frontispiece with 15 B&W illustrations (one double-paged) by Stead.Map in black on front pastedown and endpaper. "Produced in complete conformity with the authorised economy (war-time) standards" Book list prior to the frontispiece lists 3 Biggles books - 'Biggles Fails to Return', 'Biggles Sweeps the Desert' and 'Biggles Flies East', as well as 2 Worrals titles. Advertisement for 'Worrals on the Warpath' in the rear. Unfortunately the dustjacket is not original, being from the 1951 5th Impression. "Biggles finds himself in one of the most desperate escapades of his career in WW2 - the rescue of a Princess from Italian occupied Monaco".
